Rockin’ the arts and video world at ArtsROC in Pittsford

“Today, kids are under a lot of pressure to be successful, leaving little time for self-exploration,” said founder and director Lori Bajorek. “Kids are not allowed to be kids anymore!”

Eight years ago in the town of Pittsford, idealistic mom Lori Bajorek was finding herself more and more dissatisfied with the local programs available to her five-year-old son. She said the programs did not adequately promote the arts, and had virtually no bridge to technology, nor was there a clear plan for technological infusion.

When not making their own TV productions or stop-motion LEGO videos, ArtsROC’s students may be enjoying outdoor sports plus video gaming, primarily Minecraft — and ArtsROC’s most recent development is the all new “Internal Minecraft Server,” which allows for up to 36 players at a time.

“ArtsROC works to restore the balance of a successful childhood,” Bajorek said. “Here we foster children’s innate quest for knowledge and support their happiness and their health by creating a nurturing environment that allows them to explore their passions without judgment or limitation.”
