Iroquois Indian Museum, Howes Caves
Iroquois Indian Museum
The Museum is a venue for promoting Iroquois art and artists, and a meeting place for all peoples to celebrate Iroquois culture and diversity. The Children’s area interprets to young people and their parents. Visit the longhouse and learn about how the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) live today. They are among the descendants of the first people of this land. Kids can identify furs, handle rattle drums and take part in the story telling area. Stroll through the exhibits of beadwork, pottery and cornhusk work.
Among the more unique areas is the turtle pond! Make it a great day to learn about the Iroquois peoples of yesterday and today.
