Groove Juice Swing is proud to announce the Gatsby Gala, an evening of 1920s-themed music and dance inspired by the Jazz Age. Join us on April, 13, 2024, at the Rose Room, located at 295 Gregory Street, Rochester, for a celebration of this colorful and extravagant era.
From 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM, come dance to live music from Gavin Rice and his Famous Collegiates, one of Rochester’s hottest early jazz bands featuring authentic tunes and instruments from the 1920s! The evening will also showcase a performance from the Reverie Chorus line, a Rochester-based vintage jazz troupe. Attendees are encouraged to dress to the nines in their finest flapper dresses, dapper suits, and other period attire to truly capture the spirit of the Roaring 20s.
Before the dance kicks off, don’t miss the opportunity to learn some Charleston basics during a crash course lesson from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. No experience or partner required – everyone is welcome to join in the fun and learn some classic moves straight out of the Jazz Age.
