ROCHESTER, NY – Rochester’s music community is rising up. On February 27, more than 20 of the region’s top singer-songwriters will unite for an evening of original protest songs, transforming individual voices into a powerful collective response to threats against civil rights and democratic values.
The event comes amid renewed local and national challenges facing immigrant communities, voting access, and freedom of expression.
Rise Up ROC: Songs of Protest and Peace takes place at Immanuel Baptist Church and features an acclaimed lineup including Rochester Music Hall of Famer John Dady, Paul Vincent Nunes, John Kelley, Brian Lindsay, Sarah DeValiere, Scott Regan, Zahyia, Ethan Saves and more than a dozen additional regional artists.
