On Friday, June 27th special readers will take turns reading their favorite children’s books out loud for 15 minutes each, creating an entertaining read-aloud marathon at the Victor Farmington Library (VFL). The fun begins at 9:00 am and runs through 6:20 pm. Readers will encourage audience participation by wearing costumes and inviting the attendees to sing or dance along, and some will even bring well-behaved pets. Complimentary refreshments from Fire on Main and Molly V’s Ice Cream and children’s activities round out the free, daylong, celebration of reading. Caregivers of elementary-aged and younger children will especially enjoy this community event, which doubles as the perfect opportunity to pick up your Summer Reading challenge!
You won’t want to miss the stories read by VFL’s retired Children’s Librarian, Jane Durham, Victor Kindergarten Teacher, Stephanie Bock, Wood Library’s retired Children’s Librarian, Mary Ferris, and the Ontario County Sheriff’s K9 Unit. They’ll read at 9:40 am, 10:40 am, 5 pm, and 6 pm, respectively. Entertainment highlights include demonstrations by Victor Robotics and a chance to meet the Readathon Bookworm.
