“Plein Air” is a French phrase that means “outdoors.” Artists choose a location, set up an easel, and create a work of art while light is changing constantly. For the sixth year, Main Street Arts will host 45 artists who will come to Clifton Springs and will start painting at 9 a.m. The public is welcome to wander around the village to observe this creative process and chat with the artists as they work.
The artists have until 1 p.m. to complete their paintings. The gallery staff will then hang their work, and an opening reception will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. This is a great opportunity to visit with the artists and view artwork that was created that morning. Awards will be presented at 3:30 p.m. Most pieces of art will be for sale, which directly benefits the artists. The exhibition will run through Wednesday, October 14.
Admission is free, and refreshments will be served.
