Horses, Burros & Barnyard Animals in Watercolor and Ink

Artist Elaine Liberio will lead this workshop dedicated to drawing and painting horses, burros, and barnyard animals! This is a fun, exploratory class that is at your own pace with no experience needed. The workshop aligns with our Main Gallery group exhibition theme, “Horse Power,” which runs from June 6 to July 15 and features artwork by 57 talented, New York State artists. At the start of this workshop, our Gallery Curator will kick off this class by providing a brief overview of the exhibition, walk our class through the exhibition, and offer a few key observational cues before we sit down to begin our drawing & painting session.

Topics covered will include how to see & draw proportions in different animals; layering pen/ink with watercolor; color mixing in watercolor; basic composition and concepts; extension exercises to try at home; and more!

This class is taught supportively and is a judgement-free zone. Exploration is encouraged. Attendees can complete one or more works, depending on their own pace and class goals. This is a nice way to spend a late afternoon with family & friends–or attend solo and meet new, creative people!

Our space is accessible with main door opener, elevator, and accessible restrooms for convenience. If an attendee has specific requirements please contact us ahead of time so that we can do our best to accommodate specific needs or requests. Thank you! We hope to see you at this wonderful workshop.
