Drawing Horses from Life

Photographs are a wonderful resource, but capturing the essence of the horse from life offers unique benefits. This two-day workshop focuses on drawing horses from life, emphasizing direct observation, structure, and gesture. Students will study an overview of equine anatomy, movement, and proportion while working on-site with live horses.

While drawing experience is great, we welcome participants of all levels. Through a series of guided exercises and longer studies, participants will explore capturing form, character, and the energy of these beautiful animals.

This is a two-day workshop on June 27 and 28 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. each day. Cost is just $50 for both days and includes all tools & materials. Drawing boards, 11″ x 17″ paper, graphite, charcoal, and pastels will be provided. If participants wish to bring their own supplies and drawings boards or easels, they are welcome to do so.

Participants should bring a comfortable chair or seat or cushion as those are not provided on site.
