Over the course of the 5 weeks, students (grades 1 through 6) will create detailed pen drawings of a house or building based on architectural styles and their imaginations, using a variety of pen techniques to create interest, shading, and depth. Artist Melissa Talma will help students gain an appreciation for styles and elements of architecture, learn about perspective, depth, and use of straight edges, and create textural interest with patterns and shading in ink while developing their drawing skills.
Students will be guided by the instructor in each technique, and individuals will work at their own pace. Creativity is encouraged in this nonjudgmental space in which all are welcome. All supplies and materials are provided, and are covered by the $10/session workshop fee (at no additional cost).
Registration is available at https://mainstreetartscs.org/youth-programs/after-school-art-experience/.
