Located at 6393 East River Road, the New York Museum of Transportation is open all year on Sundays only, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.The museum’s exhibit spaces feature a hands-on collection of antique trolley cars, a steam locomotive, fire truck, ambulance, three operating model railroads, many other vehicles, and numerous exhibits of photographs and artifacts pertaining to local transportation history.
Take the Virtual Tour at our website to learn more.Mid-May through October, trolley rides operate every half-hour from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The museum’s 90-year-old electric trolley car takes you to Midway station and back, a 20-minute trip past scenic fields and into a deep pine forest. At Midway the trolley conductor will reverse the trolley poles to prepare the car for its return to the museum. Watch for deer or pheasants along the way!In the winter season, the annual Holly Trolley Rides celebrate the holidays on several days in December. Then, watch our website for “mini-events” to take the chill off during winter Sundays.
ADMISSION PRICES
Admission, from mid-May through October, including the trolley ride, is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors age 65 and over, and $6 for youths age 3 to 12. Under age 3 are free.
