Letchworth State Park

EXPLORING THE OUTDOORS

With the Genesee River running through it, three major waterfalls between cliffs as high as 600 feet, and beautiful surrounding forests, Letchworth State Park is one of the most scenic areas in the eastern United States. There are 66 miles of trails for hiking, horseback riding and biking, which makes the park perfect for all kinds of outdoor activities. The park also offers programs in nature, history, performing arts, and a summer lecture series. There are guided walks, tours, whitewater rafting, kayaking, a pool and hot air ballooning. Even in the winter activities don’t have to stop. Families can enjoy snow tubing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobling.

Campsite areas, cabins, cottages, and tent and trailer sites are available so you can make the outing last as long as you like. Group camping is also available and there are showers on site. Plus, it’s easy to arrange a great outdoor meal because the park boasts many pavilions, picnic tables, and grills that are available to cook at. There are also places to purchase food while you are there.

Letchworth is a great place to see some of the beautiful leaves this fall. Take some time to visit the Museum and if you aren’t sure what to do, head right up to the visitor center and get some wonderful ideas of how to spend your trip at this beautiful park.
