Berry picking
The Rochester area has many farms that allow families to pick their own berries. By picking your own, you are guaranteed the freshest fruit possible. Berry picking is also a wonderful way to teach your kids about farming and where their food comes from. So whether you plan to eat your berries right away or preserve them for a later date, berry picking is a family activity you won’t want to miss.
Tips for berry Picking:
- Remember to check the farm website or call for updated information.
- Dress appropriately for the weather and bring sun screen.
- BYOB- bring your own basket.
- Be gentle with the plants and watch where you step.

Burnap’s Farm
The sun helps the Burnap Strawberries be bright red and super sweet by the middle of June. Raspberries, blackberries and blueberries will all be here by the Fourth of July.

Gro-Moore Farms
Strawberry picking begins mid-June. Pick Your-Own fields in Rush, where you can hand select and pick every single berry exactly the size, color and ripeness you prefer offers lots of family fun.

Chase Farms
You Pick at Chase Farms: June is Strawberry month, July offers Raspberries (red and purple), Currants, Goosberries. Fall Red Raspberries are available in September. Check the website for produce availability.
